Community Supported Agriculture

veggies

In basic terms, a CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm operation so that the farmland becomes, either legally or spiritually, “the community’s farm,” with the growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production. Typically, members of the farm or garden pledge in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation. Unlike "buying clubs" you are supporting a local farm which employs local workers and volunteers, so the money you spends stays in the local economy.

In return, they receive shares in the farm’s bounty throughout the growing season, as well as satisfaction gained from reconnecting to the land and participating directly in food production.

What is a subscription membership?

Many CSA farms require seasonal prepayment to buy a share; however we realize that with the current economy not everyone is able to do that and so we provide two payment methods, full payment and subscription payment.

We have three different box sizes:

Csa Box

  • Bushel - for larger family or those who eat a lot of vegtables.
  • 3/4 Bushel - family of 4 or 5.
  • Half Bushel - less than 4 in the   family

We offer a Snowbird membership for those who will only be here part of the season. The Snowbird membership is a minimum of 12 weeks.

Addtionally, for single people we offer a half bushel box every other week. We call this a single person membership. It's slightly more expensive per box because of the addtional administration.

You can pick your box up at the farm or one of the local green markets, or can get it delivered directly to your home or office weekly for a small delivery fee.

Cost

The price for the small box delivered is $ 30 a week or $24 picked up. The cost for a 3/4 bushel box is $36 delivered or $30 a week picked up.The cost for a Large bushel and a 9th box is $42 delivered or $36 a week picked up. The Single Membership is $25 picked up and $31 delivered.

Monthly subscribers are required to make a $100.00 deposit when signing up for your subscription. This will be credited to your last month.

We have a limited number of memberships which are sold on a first come first served basis. If all shares are already sold or reserved, your deposit or payment will be returned to you. If a membership opens up we will notify you and give you the opportunity to join the CSA. For ful details on price and payment see our
